The World Aquatic Championships 2019 is the eighteenth edition of the World Aquatic Championships, joined by the International Swimming Federation, to be held in Gwangju, South Korea in the summer of 2019. The city hosted the 2015 Summer University Games in the same places.
Choose a host city
The host city was announced on July 19, 2013 during the biennial plenary session in the Congress of the International Swimming Federation in Barcelona (the host city of the 2013 World Aquatic Championships). Budapest was awarded the hosting of the 2021 Championship in the same session, and later in 2015 it was announced that Budapest will host the 2017 Championship due to the withdrawal of the host city Guadalajara.
